Tile Flooring
What is the difference between ceramic and porcelain tiles?
Many homeowners who are new to the tile flooring line often consider ceramic and porcelain floor tile to be the same product. However, there are some specific differences between the two, and that is what we will discuss with you in today's post, so read with us to find out more.
Finding your perfect floor tile is easier than you think
If tile is your flooring of choice, you will want to know as much about it as possible, and that is where we come in. We want to help you understand the differences between porcelain and ceramic so that if one suits your needs better, it will be an easy choice.
Porcelain is made with high-quality clay, which creates an outstanding through-body color scheme, which means cracks and chips are less likely to show if they happen. It is also fired at scorching temperatures, which creates a density, hardness, and low permeability that all exceed that found in ceramic by just a fraction.
Ceramic uses the same high-quality clay, but this is mixed with other all-natural materials, removing the through-body color scheme. The center color could be different from that on the outside. For this reason, the flooring is often covered with a bright glaze for outstanding design capabilities.
